What does being an upholsterer mean to you?
It means learning something new every day. Every project demands respect and has its own challenges, requires attention to detail, and doing whatever it takes to have happy customers.

How did you get started in upholstery?
I have restored cars most of my life as a hobby - paint, bodywork, and fabrication - but never wanted anything to do with upholstery. I woke up one day knowing upholstery work was my new career, I bought a sewing machine and learned how to do it!

What types of upholstery do you do?
I mainly do marine upholstery, occasionally automotive, maybe furniture, but marine is my favorite.

How long have you been upholstering?
Three years, in business just over one year

What is your biggest consumer demand?
Marine

What is your favorite upholstery project you've done?
An older scarab boat that was being restored - the upholstery was bright white with bright red accents.

What is the strangest item you've found in a restoration?
I once reupholstered some chairs from a gentleman’s club. Let’s just say gloves were mandatory!!

Have you noticed any up & coming trends?
Definitely! Trends are always changing in the upholstery world.

What changes would benefit the upholstery industry?
I haven’t used any of the computerized cutters or 2D and 3D programs, but I am looking forward to trying it soon, I hope. They seem like a huge benefit!

Have you ever been featured on television, online, or in another publication?
 No I have not.
